Handwoven Fabric Dolls
Zlati
I designed, sewed, stuffed, painted Zlati's face and wove her skirt and scarf on my loom. Zlati loves to exercise and keep fit. She is wearing her handwoven skirt and scarf in her favorite colors, red, white and blue. These colors stand for America, the country she loves. Zlati is named after my daughter.
This doll appeared in the July 2005 issue of "SOFT DOLLS AND ANIMALS" on page 52 in the "Inspirations Gallery".
Handwoven Fabric: Zlati's dress and scarf are woven on a 4 harness loom with a reverse twill threading. Her warp is made up of 5 strands of variegated yarn that is not seen after the fabric is woven. The weft is made up of several strands that are used together as one. Several strands of red, several strands of white and several strands of blue.
